IMHO what contributed to my safety was the BMR STB (shock tower brace) and MAC sub-frame connectors. The STB obviously
transferred the energy to the drivers side shock tower. It ended up pushing out the driver’s side fender, shock tower
and twisted the STB. The frame was bent but if you could see under the car, you’d see how the SFC’s prevented
the frame from twisting more. The pics do the accident no justice in overall destruction. After a month of searching, I purchased 2002 35th Anniversary Edition Z28 and in the colors I wanted
(silver on black). Only 16,456 miles when I purchased it. Flawless and clean as an off-the-showroom-floor Z28. Only big difference…
4 speed auto from a 6-speed stick. I do miss the 6 but it’s nothing a good torque converter and shift kit can’t
change... ;) |
